In July, the sales and production of motorcycles continued to
decline. This month, the production and sales reached 1,318,000 and
1,310,000 units, down 5.8% and 4.6% than that of last month, and down
15.2% and 14.4% year on year. The sales had been down for four
successive months. To be specific, the production and sales of
two-wheeled reached 1,157,000 and 1,148,000 units, down 15% and 13.9%
year on year. The production and sales of three-wheeled were 162,000 and
161,000 units, down 16.7% and 17.8% year on year.
For the first seven months, the accumulated production and sales of motorcycles reached 9,479,000 and 9,465,000 units respectively, down 14.6% and 14.9% from the previous year. The decrease rates enlarged 6.3 percentage points and 6.7 percentage points comparing with the same period of last year.
In July, the motorcycle export recovered slightly. This month, the
volume reached 572,000 units, up 1.3% than that of last month, but down
10.1% from the previous year. The yearly decrease rate narrowed 9.9
percentage points comparing with that of last month. To be specific, the
export of two-wheeled reached 546,000 units, down 10.2% year on year.
The exports of three-wheeled were 26,000 units, down 7.8% year on year.
For the first seven months, the accumulated exports of motorcycles reached 3,994,000 units, down 12.9% year on year. The decrease rate narrowed 0.4 percentage points comparing with the first half.
